There is no need to be connected to the Internet to run 123di.

Why did I not receive my download instructions?

Why do I get an error message or no response when I double-click on the downloaded setup file?
If you get a message similar to, "Files are corrupted" or no response, an error has probably occurred during the download or the download was incomplete. Before you download again, it is important that you clear your Temporary Internet Files and Internet cache.

What is the difference between the Nikon and the non-Nikon edition?
The content in both editions are the same. The Nikon edition contains a few hundred additional pages on coverage of Capture NX 2, Nikon Capture 4.4, and Nikon Scan.

What is the difference between the Standard and the Extended edition?
The Extended Edition has the following additional features:
• Search for any word and get instant results.
• Bookmark your favorite pages so you can return to it with a single click.
• Add your own notes on any page.
• Transfer Bookmarks & Notes from one computer to another.
• Change Font Size. Reduce or enlarge the fonts to enhance readability.
• Opens on the Last Page you viewed in your previous session.
• Remembers 123di Window Size & Position of your previous session.

What is the difference between the Download and the Boxed version?
The size of the download is approximately 120MB. The download will be feasible if you have a high speed Internet connection. We usually recommend the Boxed version for people who do not have high speed Internet.

I own camera brand x, will 123di be useful?
123di is not camera-specific, it is generic and applicable to all digital cameras. It covers in great detail the entire digital imaging workflow. Download the demo for a better idea of 123di.

Is a printed hard copy available?
123di is only available either as a download or on a disc. It was designed this way because it is the perfect way to learn about digital imaging.  The format would make less sense if it was for instance about gardening.  Once you start using 123di you will soon understand that the application was designed for screen viewing.  Too many things, such as animations and interactivity get lost when printing.  Moreover, at more than 4,000 pages, it would be very expensive to print every page in 123di and it would not be possible to update it as frequently to keep up with the fast moving trends in digital photography.
Nevertheless, there is a print functionality to print the occasional page.

Will 123di be updated in the future?
Bookstores do not allow for exchange or "upgrade" of your old photography book. But every version of 123di is upgradable, preserving most of your initial investment in 123di. Upgrades are free for readers who bought the previous version three months before the new release.

Do I need Adobe Photoshop to run 123di?
No, Adobe Photoshop is not needed to run 123di. 123di is an independent application that is compatible with Mac and Windows operating systems.
123di is an innovative learning tool which explains all aspects of the digital imaging workflow, including Adobe Photoshop tutorials, in an interactive and animated approach.

Will 123di be useful if I do not have Adobe Photoshop?

No, there is no need to be a PayPal member. PayPal also processes credit card payments. Alternatively you can also select to pay via WorldPay.

Is ordering from your website secure?
Our payment processors use the Secure Sockets Layer protocol (SSL) with an encryption key length of 128-bits (the highest level commercially available) to protect your credit card and other personal information. Your browser should indicate a secure connection by displaying a padlock, or similar icon, and the URL in the address bar will begin with "https" instead of "http" when you get to the payment page.

I own a Windows PC and a Mac, do I need to buy 2 copies?
There is no need to buy 2 copies. You can install 123di on three computers (Mac and Windows) solely for your own use (e.g. home computer, office computer, and notebook computer). However if you need to install on a new computer but have already used up all three unlock keys, we are fair and flexible and will still be able to manually increase your maximum number of unlock keys.
